Eco-Friendly

The entire team involved in the creation of the Mountain Magnolia Collection is sensitive to any impact on the environment. Pete and Karen Nagle, of the Mountain Magnolia, go to great lengths to compost, recycle, conserve energy and live chemically free. Gary and Brenda Lowe live the same way. The Yoders and the Amish community live totally off the grid. They don’t drive cars and they use horse and buggy whenever possible, and grow much of their own food.

Certified Sustainable Hardwood
The Amish team use only locally grown hardwoods from forests which are sustainable. In Ohio, where forest acreage has doubled in the past 60 years, there is a move to certify all private and public forests as "sustainable," according to the Plain Dealer. It's a way for the State's forestry owners to make more money on the wood products they sell, and more importantly ensure that there are still trees to harvest and process in the years to come.
